Tooshuusai Sharaku. He was active from the spring of 1794 to right
after the New Year's Kabuki performance in 1795; at that point, he
disappeared. He produced a series of over 150 prints of Kabuki
actors. The reason that this man's "looks strange" is because he is an
actor in a Mie pose, which is when an actor will freeze and display
his emotions with his face and body at dramatic points during the
