Fall of 1993

Kevin Ball (bagpipes, fiddle, mandolin, vocals), Jeremy
Hughes (accordion, whistle, vocals), Chris Jonat (bass, vocals), and David Plenkovich
(drums), Cameron Thomson (guitar, vocals), and Anna Schaad (fiddle) form the Clumsy
Lovers.

The Clumsy Lovers have their first ever gig, opening for Mojo
Nixon at the Backstage Theatre in Seattle.

Our first van, J-1, dies an honorable death.

February 14, 1994

"Red Tape" is recorded in one long Valentine's Day
session at Turtle Studio in Richmond, BC.

March 17, 1994

"Red Tape" is officially released at the St.
Patrick's Day bash at Speedy O'Tubb's in Bellingham, WA. It has now sold over 5,000
copies.

Our first appearance at the Renaissance Fair in Moscow, ID.

The Clumsy Lovers play the Music West Festival in Vancouver,
BC.

Anna Schaad leaves the group, making us a five-piece. The

The Lovers play the Independent Music Seminar in San Diego, WA. We share a bill at the Fenix in Seattle, WA, with actress Mare Winningham, who is in town filming "Georgia" (for which she received an Academy Award nomination). We're telling you this just because. Oh yeah, she also insisted we take her share of the door. Is that cool, or what? | |

Cameron Thomson decides to retire after a tough California tour and the New Year's Eve blowout, again at Speedy O'Tubb's, proves to be his last gig. This ushers in the era of the rotating guitar player |
